CREDENTIALS:
The
following credentials are currently the only national
certification programs that Laser Blazers recognize.
Both
national organizations have aligned themselves with an
independent testing agency, and have constructed their
exams according to their strict standards. All 3 of
these national credentials require 75 hours of
continuing education every 5 years. The Society of
Clinical & Medical Electrologists (SCME) is an active
member of the International Association of Continuing
Education Training (IACET), and adheres to their
guidelines.
CCE-Certified
Clinical Electrologist
This credential was the first certification available to
the electrology profession. It was first given in
Secacus, N.J. in 1986.
CME-Certified Medical Electrologist
This is an upper level credential. Only those who
already hold the credential of CCE or CPE can apply for
this exam. It is the only credential in the world that
represents an electrologist’s knowledge concerning laser
technology. It was first administered in Nashville, TN
in 1998.
CPE-Certified Professional Electrologist
It was first administered in 1987 to compete with the
CCE credential.
